Since 2011 a GPS-travel Logger (Qstarz BT-Q1000XT) is used to record our trips. The data can be stored as KLM or KMZ fileteypes an presented by Google maps or by Google Earth.
The number of location points created by the GPS-travel Logger usually exceed the number accepted by Google maps web application. A simple server program (PHP) with Javascript code uses a Google maps API (Apllication Programming Interface) to present the map data in a separate browser window. Title and description ist stored in a separate small text file: Fahrstrecke auf Google-Maps (seperates Fenster)
